The 54th annual BC BBQ will be held Sept. 11th at Stramler Park.
Becki Whitson, president of the BC Alumni Association, is excited for this year’s barbecue. “You can see the BC Cheer team in action, the fall athletes will be there with their coaches, and there will be all kinds of new alumni and old alumni getting together.”
Tickets are $20 for a steak or chicken dinner, and children under 12 can get a hot dog or hamburger for $5.
Special guests include the Tony Ernst Band, and the new president of BC as well as the chancellor of Kern Community College District are expected to also be there. “This is the most worthy fundraising event for both academics and athletics. It’s a fun event with a delicious dinner, and it doesn’t get much better than that,” Whitson stated.
Tickets may be purchased prior to the event or at the gate for the same price of $20. Proceeds benefit the Alumni Association and athletics. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., and dinner will be served from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. For more information, call the BC Ticket Office at 395-4326.
