The Student Government Association, starting on April 20 and going through April 23, is putting on the Spring Fling Mad Hatter Mayhem.
This year’s Spring Fling showcased different events and acts starting with DJ Oz, who played music in the Campus Center on Monday.
SGA planned for another musical performance Tuesday with the the band CONCHA, a rock and pop- styled group. The band was set up in the Campus Center as well.
The agenda for Wednesday is only going to consist of a teacup ride from Game Rentals store, set up in the grassy area in front of Campus Center starting at 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. The teacup ride will also be held on Thursday at the same time with the last event scheduled for the week of Spring Fling.
Bakersfield College Spring Fashion Show will be the last event taking place as part of the Spring Fling put on by the SGA. The 20 students who volunteer are going to be the models for the show wearing outfits that were donated to the Cal Works Program at BC.
The fashion show’s clothing theme will go along with the spirit of the season with bright colors and patterns. There has not been a time set for the fashion show as of now.
This year’s event has been approved for over $9,000 for funding for the SGA. The teacup ride is going to cost $3,800 and $2,000 has been planned for Valley Plaza gift cards to purchase clothes and accessories for the fashion show.
Angie Hall, 28, BC student attended this year and last year’s Spring Fling put on by the SGA.
“I think last year was a lot better because they played more of the music I like and more food. I remember I got balloons, and they had rock climbing out there on the grass.”
