Finals week is Dec. 7-10 at Bakersfield College. Although some teachers opt to not give a final during the week, many teachers still stick to the end of the semester exams.
Philosophy professor Matthew Morgan treats his finals as the third exam of his classes.
“To learn from the mistakes made on quizzes and homework can be used to prepare for the final exam,” Morgan said about students preparing for the test.
BC President Greg Chamberlain suggests having a reward planned after finals.
“Choose something you like to do. See a movie or hang out with friends,” Chamberlain said.
Some students choose to stay up all night cramming for exams; Chamberlain said it’s not always good to stay up all night.
He also suggests to students who are unsure of material to explain it to someone else.
“The best way to learn something is to teach it,” he said.
Chamberlain also said to stay healthy up to finals.
“Drink plenty of fluids and wash your hands,” he suggested.
