Bakersfield College held annual Business Pathway Career Expo
April 26, 2019
Bakersfield College hosted a Business Pathway Career Expo on April 24.
Students had open access to professionals from a wide range of business fields.
BC has been working to strengthen their students’ ability to find a job as quickly as possible, either upon graduation or while enrolled.
Events like this allow students to make business connections and seek employment before they ever finish their degree.
Many booths had application options for student as well, and students could apply for a job or internship on the spot.
Some colleges and transfer programs were also in attendance.
A varied group of business and professional fields were represented at the expo.
California Highway Patrol and the Department of Corrections were recruiting alongside Grand Canyon University.
KSI and Aera Energy were also there to seek new employees.
The California Aeronautic University was also in attendance.
BC also had a variety of departments represented to show career opportunities available across all its campuses.
The Career Expo provided options for many different majors.
This particular expo was not as busy as past events, with the weather being intensely hot.
This led the tables and canopies to be crowded together and students who were interested seemed clustered in pockets of shade.
BC tents provided hand held fans to cool students, however many students passed by the expo with out much interest.
BC puts on events like this at least once per semester excluding the summer.
This allows students the opportunity to seek employment related directly to their field of study. The next event is projected for the Fall 2019 semester.
