BC hosted numerous Welcome Week activities for the return of students on campus during the first week of fall semester.
Welcome tents were set up to help students around campus on their first day of school. Other tents informed students about programs they could sign up for and event tents passed out flyers for events and information about them.
Many enjoyed the event “Game On” on Wednesday, Aug. 23 in the Renegade Event Center, another Welcome Week event.
The room bustled with students and staff as they competed in games, laughed, and just enjoyed the time relaxing, like BC student Steven Heredia who said he likes events like these to de-stress himself and to have some fun.
While the room was empty when “Game On” first started, but as time went by, the room started to fill up little by little. At the entrance of the event, BC staff had a desk set up full of BC merch and goodies like cookies, candies and chips provided by CalFresh.
The most popular game at the event was Smash Bros, since one of the events at “Game On” was a Smash Bros tournament where the winner got a prize.
Event goer, Ryan Derry, said he attended last year’s event, and it made him want to come back this year. He liked how many available consoles they had and explained that he had fun.
Other events during the first week of school included an Ice Cream Social and “Karaoke Knight” at the Renegade Event Center.
