Los Angeles metal band Five Finger Death Punch is made up of two guitarists, a bassist, drummer, and one significant singer.
The band is Ivan Moody on vocals, Zoltan Bathory and Darrell Roberts playing guitar, Matt Snell on bass, and Jeremy Spencer playing drums. Moody and Bathory were the first ones to start the band, with the other members slowly but surely coming in. Playing together for about a year, this band has already made a CD and has a new video.
The band has recently been touring through Irvine, Sacramento, Reno, Fresno, and Bakersfield. On Sept. 22, Five Finger Death Punch played at The Dome with bands Hatefx, Exithead, and All is Lost. The band will be touring alone until October, where they will meet up with Korn and Hellyeah to begin the “B*tch we have a Problem Tour.”
“If we play on the same thing over and over again the listener will walk away, so we are very diverse,” said Moody. According to the band, playing live is hard to put it in terms, you have to experience it in order to feel it.”
At the show, many fans were singing along with the band. Throughout the show nobody in the audience was really pushing each other but all of them were banging their heads and jumping. Whenever someone began to push, others would push back, but at the end they would look at each other, shake hands, smile, and enjoy the rest of the show. “Oh it could get like a bloodbath, but the kids are really responsible,” said Moody reflecting to the audience at their show. All ended well at the show with fans screaming out and applauding the band.
The band has recently come out with their debut CD entitled “The Way of the Fist” which has made it to the Billboard Top 200. This CD has just about anything you could think of. “I talk about life, death, sex, violence, politics,” says Moody. “I’m a very open-minded person, and that’s where my inspiration comes from.”
Ten tracks were recorded, and their first video was for the track called “The Bleeding.” Actress Danielle Harris, who was featured in the recent movie Halloween, made an appearance in the band’s video.
“Making the video was awesome,” said Moody. “It was like two days of fun.”
The video shows Moody thinking about his old girlfriend and throughout the video you see Moody having flashbacks of her.
As the story goes on the band is playing to the melody of the video. Towards the end, Harris ends up committing suicide and Moody spreads her ashes on her bed with a picture of her.
