The African American Student Union of Bakersfield College will be holding an open mic and chalk walk including a chalk mural in the free-speech area 10-11 a.m. on Feb. 18th

The open mic will include potery, musicians, singers and plenty of music.

A quote by Ralph Martin “Excellence isn’t a skill, it’s an attitude” is a main theme that the President of the African American Student Union, Safiyyah Desouza, wants to reiterate.

“There is what, eighteen thousand of us at this school? Imagine eighteen thousand of us making a difference.” Desouza said.
