Businesses that are remaining open during the coronavirus pandemic

As the streets of Bakersfield continue to look more uninhabited, some businesses persevere through times of struggle. Most services that are known as essential, proceed in remaining open.
All Sno Shack locations will continue to remain open. Their hours of operation are starting from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Services are also available on GrubHub and doordash. Nearly all restaurants are now offering “curb-side pick-up,” where customers can drive by and order without getting off their cars.
“Curb-side pick-up,” was started amongst many food businesses in order to practice social distancing and new protocols during the coronavirus pandemic. Many restaurants are also offering discounts on purchases.
The Burger Joint is offering a 30% discount off menu items when customers order over the phone for pick-up. They are offering a big discount in hopes of “helping out their community’s families.”
Some business services are giving discounts toward essential workers, such as the Flame Broiler. The Flame Broiler is offering 30% off to all first-responders including EMT, firefighters, doctors, nurses, and police.
The Marriott Hotel is offering “Home office day rates,” giving those who need a work space away from home for a change. Day rate is $75 plus tax or $300 for a week Monday through Friday.
Home Depot will remain open for business. Days open are Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays through Sundays 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Lowe’s is open for business Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
All laundromats will continue to be open to the public such as Wash N Dry, His Waters Laundromat, Quick N Clean, Launderland, etc. Petco continues to open for business for all pet nutrition and supplies.
Coscto’s Food court is still open for business. Hours open are 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays through Sundays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Crosstown Tax will remain open to help with tax preparation, considering the tax filing deadline has extended out to July 15th. Crosstown Tax is open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Although not an essential, Best Buy continues to be open. Hours open are everyday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. They offer curb-side pick-up services. They are only answering customer’s questions through their website, or their app. The Furniture store, R & D Leather Furniture continues to remain open. Hours open during Monday through Fridays are 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Saturdays through Sunday 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Furniture City is also still open for business. They are open everyday 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Staff members state they will continue to practice social distancing as they do business.
