Local pumpkin patches offer fall fun
October 14, 2022
October means Bakersfield’s Pumpkin Patches have opened back up just in time for Halloween decorations and pumpkin seeds.
There are two main ones in Bakersfield: Banducci’s Family Pumpkin Patch located at 10747 Taft Hwy and Murray Family Farms located at 6700 General Beale Rd.
Banducci’s Family Pumpkin Patch has an admissions fee of $5. As you walk in you will see a variety of pumpkins, from tiny, to large, to warty, to white they have options to pick from. They also have pony rides available at an additional cost of $10, along with a corn maze for $5.00, and a petting zoo for $5.00. Their farm also invited food vendors such as shaved ice and tacos that you could purchase. The pumpkin patch has a lake in the middle where you can also catch some ducks, along with a variety of photo backdrops to choose from. When you pick out your pumpkin you will go to the checkout booth and depending on the size how much you will spend. The lowest pumpkin they have is $4 and the most expensive is $18.
Murray Family Farms has an admission price of $16.99 Monday-Thursday and $18.99 Friday-Sunday. You have the option to add on the potato blaster and/or paintball for an additional cost. With admission to the farm, they offer you a free tractor ride that goes over the farm’s history, a corn box, a vortex machine, free carnival games such as a football toss, the entrance to the corn maze, a sunflower maze, and a free pumpkin from the designated patch. They also have a giant slide, hill sliding, and a giant bounce pillow that you can also join in on. For food, they have food options to choose from along with groceries and fruit to take home as well.
Murray Family Farms encourages you to come back in November when they have their U- Pick sunflower event.
