For those who have questions or concerns about the FAFSA application process or if you’re struggling to fill in information for the application the Financial Aid office is ready to help you.

In the Student Welcome Center, Financial Aid experts have workshops open for all students and those who starting or continuing their education at Bakersfield College. Every day between the hours of 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. students can come inside and talk to those who know information about the FAFSA application process. They are willing to answer questions or concerns to help you understand the overwhelming process and difficulty of understanding what information you need to provide.

Financial aid experts, student workers and volunteers help students at BC figure out the quite complicated financial aid system. In the campus Welcome Center, you could find those who a part of the financial aid department willing to help you with start filling out the new 2025-2026 application or even help you figure out any problems or complications with 2024-2025 application.

“We try to have a workshop every day for students. If it does get busy during the workshop, we still help students in the front of the financial aid office. we try to help everyone one on one but also help them learn on their own when they do transfer to different colleges. I feel like the workshops help those who are shy and those who are older. even those who are new to the school/FAFSA process. and students who are facing different challenges that do not have time or resources to fill in the FAFSA application before it is too late to submit,” said Luz Morales who is a student worker.

Everyone here on campus has different situations and circumstances when it comes to life and the Financial Aid office understand so by opening these workshops and allowing to even schedule appointment to meet with advisors, every student gets the chance to ask for help with their FAFSA application.
