In celebration of Hispanic Heritage month, Bakersfield College held a piñata decorating event on Sept. 30.
This event was full of colors and creativity, with participants doing everything from crafting flowers to someone who took the initiative to make a piñata for BC.
Students used their imagination and started creating their piñatas, while others were inspired with the help of Pinterest to create a pretty piñata.
As was the case of Michelle Mancilla who created a beautiful piñata in a matter of minutes, using her personal thoughts as inspiration to help her pinata take shape.
Debra Ramirez created a piñata inspired by the movie “Tangled.”
Jennifer Arnison was another who let herself be carried away by her ideas and thoughts and ended up producing a work full of color and imagination.
Some piñatas were inspired by the colors of the American flag. Others chose to make a piñata dedicated to BC American Football.
This event was an effective way to express ideas and relax after a day full of classes, stress, and lots of tasks. It is good to clear your mind and let your mind rest and focus on something else.
This even was one of several in a month to celebrate Hispanic heritage, providing students a chance to learn about a culture that may or may not be different from theirs.
