It was fun while it lasted, but break is over and classes are back in session. Bakersfield College campus was fairly cold and quiet over the break. “I didn’t hear of anything happening on the campus over break,” said B.C freshman Cameron Apple.
Still a few things did take place over break. There is relief for all you drivers out there. Roadwork around the campus is finally over and parking is back to normal.
Director of marketing and public relations Amber Chiang developed and released Career Focus, a 30 pg. magazine, to 300,000 homes. ” Career Focus is meant to reach out to the community, covering subjects such as financial aid and career info,” said Chiang.
According to the Bakersfield College homepage, Classes at BC are now $20 a unit, a $6 decrease from last semester.
Feb 2nd was the last day for refunds for semester length classes. Feb. 5th was the last day to add semester length classes with an approved add slip.
New at Bakersfield College is Preventative Healthcare Information and Training (PHIT). PHIT is a program that offers information and training in an effort to make for a healthier student.
Also new at B.C. is the Jones Gallery show. This show will include images of landscapes and human form from the newest show at Wylie and May Jones Gallery. The Jones Gallery is located in the Grace Van Dyke Bird library, Shows run from Feb 1st to Mar 1st.
