Bakersfield College students have been receiving through their emails, an invitation to participate in a survey.
All three colleges from Kern Community College District are participating in this national survey that inquires about the students’ media preferences, according to Marc Beam the director of Institutional Research of KCCD.
“The purpose of the survey is to find out more about our students’ media preferences, such as which online services and websites students use,” said Beam.
Beam said that through this survey, colleges will have more information on, “ways to reach more students, as well as which online sites and services are used for education and social networking by our students.”
“The survey was sent to all BC students who have an email address on file,” Beam said.
The survey includes questions such as, “What is your favorite radio station?” “What information do you look for in the newspaper?” and “How often do you go to a coffee house/shop?”
Students completing the survey, which takes from 25 to 30 minutes, will have the chance to enter a drawing to win an iPod or iTunes gift card worth $150.
It is important to note that this survey is anonymous and will be available for two weeks. The faculty at BC also received an email inviting them to encourage their students to take the survey.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to gather some very helpful information from our students that will assist with future planning and more effectively marketing for our college,” Beam said.
