The start of November was more eventful than normal for a payday loan business in Bakersfield.
The Check-N-Go at Mt. Vernon and Columbus Avenue was robbed at gunpoint Nov. 2 according to the Bakersfield Police Department, and an undisclosed amount of money was taken.
According to those at the scene who spoke with police, the suspects held guns to people’s heads and ordered them to give up their money.
“To think that anyone could just walk into a business and put a gun to someone’s head is scary,” said Denise Livery of Bakersfield. “It makes me remember just how precious life is.”
BPD describes the suspects as black males, mid-20’s, 6’0″ to 6’1″ and medium build. Clothing was described as all black with black bandanas covering the faces of both suspects.
Anyone with any information regarding this robbery is encouraged to call BPD at 327-7111.
