During the first week of this year’s fall semester a large pile of mulch was found taking up multiple parking spaces in the southeast lot by the football stadium, making it harder for students to find parking.

Amber Chiang, director of marketing and public relations at Bakersfield College said the mulch pile was moved early Friday, August 28 to the southwest corner of that lot, adjacent to the practice football field on University Ave.

According to Sally Sterns, a horticulture technician, the mulch will be used to better the football field, specifically the area surrounding the “BC” insignia on the east side of the stadium.
