Olmos Productions and Edward James Olmos, movie director and actor of “The Devil Has a
Name,” a future dark comedy film, are looking to cast extras for two scenes that will be filmed at
Buck Owens Crystal Palace in Bakersfield, on March 5.
Extras that are needed should be in the age range of 30 to 70 years old, although according
to Bobbi Luther, a line producer for the film, “all ages are encouraged.”
The first scene, “Congressman’s Gala,” will be shot from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. For this scene, Luther writes that they are looking for extras whose wardrobe and look reflect that of “a country well-to-do with a conservative look, well dressed (sports coats and dresses) but not overly so.”
A second scene entitled, the “Shore Shindy,” a nightclub scene, will be shot from 2 p.m. to 9
p.m. at Casablanca Night Club downtown. Extras for this scene should range from their “20s to 50s, dressed in nightclub attire that’s a little more ostentatious and skimpy. Along with an edgier-looking crowd,” wrote Luther.
Luther also stated that “less provocative innocents might be good to show contrast,” and encouraged those who are interested in appearing in “The Devil Has a Name” to keep wardrobe guidelines in mind. Wardrobes will not be provided so extras will need to bring their own clothing for these scenes.
Those who are interested in being an extra for either scene should RSVP by sending an email to [email protected] prior to the film date so that additional information can be sent regarding the scenes.
