After Officer Bagsby’s arrival, Subject 1 approached the officer, claiming that he had possession of a semi-automatic firearm. “There was no lock down because when we showed up, we didn’t know there was a firearm involved,” said Rios. “As soon as we found out about the weapon, we immediately took control and made sure the weapon was contained. detained. It wasn’t known until Subject 1 let Officer Bagsby know he was in possession of a firearm.”
The DCS and BPD detained the firearm, until checking to make sure it was registered before giving it back to Subject 1 after the altercation was resolved.
