A Bakersfield College student was arrested Thursday, March 27, after assaulting a campus officer.
The incident followed reports of the student causing a disruption in class the days prior. On Wednesday, March 26, the professor called in a complaint, prompting the student to flee the classroom.
Campus Safety responded quickly, attempting to contact the student as they left the campus, but the individual was unresponsive.
The following day, Campus Safety reached out again for more information, which led to an altercation. During the incident, the student assaulted an officer, resulting in their arrest.
The assault occurred near the south side of the Science and Engineering building, by the General Science side.
