Super Bowl 55 team favorites and predictions
September 16, 2020
With the 2020-2021 NFL season underway, all teams will be fighting for a spot in Tampa, FL for Super Bowl 55.
Even though the COVID-19 pandemic continues, all 32 NFL teams are locked in at trying to make a Super Bowl appearance this season. Although there is a lot of talent in the league, some teams look better at making a Super Bowl run than others.
The team with the best chances of appearing in this year’s Super Bowl is no doubt the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs are last year’s reigning Super Bowl Champs and have most of their championship team returning for this year’s season.
The team will continue to have a great coach and play-caller in Andy Reid. This will be Reid’s 22nd year as a head coach in the NFL and with all that time in the league comes a lot of experience.
Super Bowl MVP quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, will return to take charge of the offense. Mahomes is the best of both worlds with his incredible arm and excellent speed.
Mahomes will have loads of weapons to choose from on offense, with standouts being tight end Travis Kelce and wide receiver Tyreek Hill. The team also has a new powerhouse running back in rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire.
With the offense looking great, the one downside to the team may be their defense. The defense is nowhere near as strong as the offense and in the playoffs, this may be the Achilles’ heel for the team.
The Baltimore Ravens is another AFC team with a great chance of making it to the Super Bowl. Like the Chiefs, the Ravens have an experienced coach in John Harbaugh, who has won a Super Bowl in the past.
The star of the team is quarterback Lamar Jackson, who is known for his astonishing speed. Jackson was so impressive on the field last season that he won the league MVP. Along with Jackson, the offense has fast playmakers in wide receiver Marquise Brown and running back Mark Ingram. Speed is what makes this team dangerous.
As good as Raven’s offense is, their defense is even better. The downside to the team though is that they have choked in their last two playoff appearances.
A team in the NFC with a good chance of making the super bowl is the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers had a very impressive Super Bowl run last season but sadly came up short in the big game.
The team has a smart young coach in Kyle Shanahan, and his experience in last year’s Super Bowl may be what helps the team the most. The offense has a great rotation of running backs and a star tight end in George Kittle.
The team’s defense is considered one of the best in the league and has a monster in Nick Bosa. The downside of the team has got to be their quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Garoppolo has shown several times that he cannot handle the pressure of playing in important games.
With all 32 NFL teams ready to battle it out, the only question remaining is who will be booking their ticket to Tampa come Feb?
