The Incredible Hulk has finally declared war on the whole world: Thus, the “World War Hulk” saga begins.
This Marvel Comics event has proved, once again, I could add another story into my nerdy comic- book collection.
A few issues ago, the Hulk was betrayed by his fellow superheroes: Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic, Dr. Strange and Black Bolt. All are members of the Illuminati.
They sent the Hulk into a far-away galaxy on a planet called Sakaar. After landing there, he eventually found peace. However, a bomb that was inside his shuttle blew up and disintegrated his queen and followers.
The Hulk appeared on all televisions across the world and warned Manhattan to evacuate within 24 hours. Hulk also issued this warning to the three who sent him to space.
The Hulk ended his broadcast with this: “And if they’re not here. I’ll do this.” A torn-up Black Bolt, the second most-powerful superhero in the galaxy, was held as a demonstration to warn the world.
An interesting story that had me question constantly, “How are they going to stop the Hulk?” This five-piece event left me drooling with anticipation, and the storyline was written in a very informative way.
Many attempts to stop the Hulk and Warbound were made (Warbound is the Hulk’s surviving clan that came along to fight on the Hulk’s behalf).
Iron Man updated his iron suit to a bigger suit, which was eventually crushed by the Hulk alone. Mr. Fantastic used his technology to confuse the Hulk, but the Hulk ended up beating the whole Fantastic Four. The Army led by General Ross attacked the Hulk with indestructible bullets but failed. Dr. Strange used his magic to enter inside the Hulk’s mind, but it only resulted in the doctor’s defeat.
There was an amazing scene in the book: The Hulk and Warbound were dragging some superheroes and demonstrating that Warbound had won.
The superheroes, who tried to stop the Hulk, were held hostage in a stadium where the Illuminati were forced to fight for their lives.
This story was very thrilling. The Hulk was about to use magic on Mr. Fantastic and get him to kill Iron Man.
Stunningly, the Hulk dropped the weapons, and he said, “Remember this, puny humans. We came here for justice. Not murder. So, no one on your planet has died by our hands. And no one will.. Now we’ll raze this city to the ground. And leave you to shame.”
After this, the whole story takes a lot of twists and turns.
The Sentry was known to be the strongest hero in the galaxy, but was defeated by the Hulk.
I will not spoil the ending, so, for those comic-book lovers out there, I highly recommend this five- piece book. The complete saga will be released in May of this year.
