At the fairly new Mexican restaurant Maria Bonita, located at 8831 Kern Canyon Road, they put the saying “All you can eat” to the test.

After arriving to my destination, I have to admit I was hungry. So some of my friends, and I decided to order their buffet.

It was love at first sight. The buffet was filled with loads of succulent dishes.

There were so many different foods to choose from, such as carne asada, rice, beans, tortillas, tacos and enchiladas.

Usually when my friends and I go to a buffet, we attempt to eat all we can and see who can eat the most.

So, just for fun, we made guesses on who would eat the most in an hour. So after everyone picked their number of dishes and names, it was time to raid the buffet table.

After gazing at the buffet in utter amazement, it was time to dig in. First stop was the enchiladas. Every bit tasted like a little bit of heaven. Well, it was Mexican-food heaven, anyway. The enchiladas were hot, cheesy and delicious, and that’s just the way I like them.

Next was the carne asada wrapped in a tortilla. The meat was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The tortillas were warm and tasty. This was definitely the best I have ever tasted so far.

After about the second plateful of carne asada, rice, beans, tortillas and enchiladas, I could not take another bite. We all assumed that the least amount of plates that some one would get was three, and the most was five.

To our surprise, the smallest number of plates was one, and the biggest number was three. So no one guessed the right number or person. It was unbelievable each one of us were so full we could barely breathe.

Maria Bonita definitely put us to shame. We ate all we could, which turned out to not be that much.

As my friends and I continued to enjoy our meal, I took a look around, and we were not the only customers there enjoying not only the meal but also the environment. The atmosphere was comfortable and very relaxing.

Maria Bonita is a great restaurant. I think that everyone should go out there and enjoy a well-cooked and beautifully prepared Mexican meal.
