Five Nights at Freddy’s is an iconic Indie horror game. This is a great movie overall for people who weren’t familiar with the original game and book series. They were able to piece together the story to show the main plot of the movie.
The movie had a good amount of jump scares, but it was PG-13 so it left a bit of the violence to the viewer’s imagination. The movie was slow during some scenes, but it added to the anticipation of what was really going on and left the viewers wondering what path the story line will take.
As usual recreating games/books on the big screen is never going to be perfect for the fans but with the game having one storyline and the books having a slightly different storyline, it feels as if the movie was a way to find a middle ground for both the game and the books.
Even though the movie left people with lots of questions from all the easter eggs throughout the movie, fans of Five Nights at Freddy’s are given a sense of nostalgia as they try to piece together who’s who and see their favorite game/book series come to life.
The animatronics were very creepy and realistic much like they were in the game.
What would have been really fun to watch would be if the security guard Mike had locked himself in the office and distract the animatronics from Abby to give her time to help the animatronics remember the truth.
But overall, the movie was really good and hopefully they answer the fans’ questions in the next movie.
