A new Sushi restaurant on the block in Southwest Bakersfield named Kura Revolving Sushi Bar just recently opened on Nov. 1. For all sushi lovers or those who love fresh seafood dishes and especially classic Japanese food; sushi is the way to go.
The restaurant functions on a rotating clockwise counter-table next to each seating booth with an immense variety of selections to choose from. Each plate costs $3.80, apart from other side options like hand rolls, ramen, miso soup, gyozas, and a few other special rolls. As well as including other types of desserts costing a little more but worth the cost and taste. The beverages are brought out to you by self-automated bots yes you read right plus a bonus if it is your birthday the bot sings to you.
Who does not love prizes? Well, 15 plates can lead to a prize, that drops down from where you eat so be prepared to catch it. It can be between a magnetic bookmark and a keychain.
For all sushi lovers, there are many varieties to choose from, starting with some rolls like the Snow Crab, Avocado roll, Crunchy roll, Caterpillar roll, Sweet Shrimp, Tamago, Spider roll, Seared beef with Yakiniku sauce.
Each plate comes with two, three or four-pieces. Each roll is unique and especially in taste whether your more into crab, shrimp, salmon, eel, unagi, tuna. The favorite of the evening was the caterpillar roll, not an actual caterpillar but a roll with eel and cucumber, (nori) seaweed, rice, avocado, drizzled with eel sauce. The taste in freshness and flavor was extraordinary rich.
Everyone has a favorite item on the menu and with Aurelio Alejandre his favorite, he responds, “My favorite roll is the American Wagyu, it is one of America’s best meats and a favorite a classic hand roll that I learned in training to make.”
Everyone’s experience working at a restaurant is different, but this place is unique because technology is involved. Well with Alejandre he loves that Kura sushi. “The part on having technology involved by having robots even though I have beef with them sometimes like I have bumped paths with them. One of the nice parts is that robots are good and can sing Happy Birthday.”
As a first-time customer, I highly recommended to check out. The service is friendly with both humans and bots. If you do not mind waiting for a satisfying meal, then this place is the one to recommend. The prices and the quality are worth the penny along with being part of their loyalty program.
