With a number of injuries lately, the Bakersfield College soccer team tried a lighter attitude at Monday’s practice with games of leapfrog and piggyback rides.
The Renegades were coming off their first loss after eight straight victories, a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Santa Monica on Oct. 14. BC is 3-1 in the Western State Conference and 11-3-1 overall.
Against Santa Monica, BC’s Maryellen Bunting took a shot on goal early in the game that just missed. Later in the first half, a corner kick from Laura Sanchez took a bounce, hit a defender and Bethany Moore took a shot that seemed to clear the goal line but was not ruled a goal.
