The Bakersfield College women’s volleyball team suffered their fourth loss of the season to Santa Barbara at home on Oct. 2, bringing their record to 7-4.
Santa Barbara defeated BC three games to one, with the match scores of 25-22, 25-21, 21-25, and 25-18.
Top scorers against Santa Barbara were Reisa Fessler with 17 kills three above season average, 11 digs, and Brookey Holmes with 10 kills, 14 digs, two points below her season averages.
Previously, BC posted three consecutive wins, coming against Cuesta and Antelope Valley at three games to one and Hancock three games to none.
The team plays at Canyons on Oct. 6 then back home against West LA on Oct. 9 and Citrus on Oct. 13.
According to head coach Carl Ferreira and several players, the team is hoping to bounce back from the loss and play strong against Canyons who they lost to earlier in the season.
Attacking and scoring are points of emphasis for the team, according to Ferreira.
