Head coach Tim Painton and the Bakersfield College Renegades held their semi-annual alumni baseball game at Gerry Collis Field Oct. 18. The BC alumni defeated the 2009-2010 roster for BC 16-5 in a 14-inning affair agreed upon game time.
For the BC alumni, 1999-2000 BC left-fielder Jason Pruitt stole two bases and went 2-for-2 with two singles.
The defining moment came in the top of the ninth inning with the score already 8-4 in favor of the alumni with the bases loaded. 2002-2004’s Travis Tebondt unloaded them with a towering drive over the right-field fence.
The game, for the Renegade varsity team, was filled with errors and miscues from new names. The current BC roster had five total errors, while the alumni had one.
The Renegades begin their 2010 play at Irvine Valley Feb. 4.
