NCAA Tournament Preview
March 17, 2023
It is that time of the year again. The NCAA Tournament is set and it is time for everyone to fill out their bracket.
The No.1 seeds for the NCAA Tournament are the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Houston Cougars, the Kansas Jayhawks and the Purdue Boilermakers.
The South Region consists of a couple heavy hitters in the Arizona Wildcats and the Baylor Bears.
This region is full of upset potential as teams like the Charleston Cougars, Furman Paladins, and Utah State Aggies all seem to do some serious damage in this side of the bracket.
The Maryland Terrapins and West Virginia Mountaineers are the best first round game in this region.
Next is the East Region where this side of the bracket has some mid seeded teams that can knock out top teams.
Those teams are the Michigan St Spartans, Kentucky Wildcats and the Providence Friars. Duke is the hottest team entering the NCAA Tournament after steamrolling everyone enroute to their 22nd ACC title.
Their opponents are the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles in the first round. The Golden Eagles boast a 30-4 record and went undefeated in their conference. This will be the game to watch.
In the Midwest Region, watch out for teams like the Xavier Musketeers and the Texas Longhorns. Watch out for the Iowa Hawkeyes because they can really score points averaging 80 a game, they can shock some teams.
The Miami Hurricanes have won nine of their last 10 games with their only loss coming to Duke. Their opponents are the Drake Bulldogs who won the Missouri Valley Conference and boast a 27-7 record.
Finally in the West Region, it is full of heavy hitters like the Connecticut Huskies, Gonzaga Bulldogs and UCLA Bruins. Gonzaga and UCLA might get their first rematch since the unbelievable final four game two years earlier.
The Arkansas Razorbacks and Illinois Fighting Illini is a very intriguing game because Arkansas is playing well where Illinois is in a bit of a slump. The winner of this game could give Kansas trouble.
Everyone, it is now time to fill out your brackets. The first games are Thursday, March 16 at 9:15 A.M.
