BC’s women’s volleyball played against College of the Canyons Sept. 29, winning three of the four matches.
The first match was 25-18, second game was 25-18, the third game was 23-25(which was the match BC lost) and the fourth game was 16-25.
The match started extremely close in scores; each time BC scored a point Canyons would be right there scoring the next point. The team had a strong front row that kept the volleyball from letting the other team score. Kya Jones, a sophomore on the team got 14 digs throughout the match, along with Brianna Bowyer, a freshman who had 10 kills throughout the match.
Each match ended close in scores, but BC was able to put a defensive line up to end the game with a winner’s title.
Kya Jones explained their preparation before going into games and talked about the importance of the preparation before the games and the things they do before playing. “To get ready for the games we always have a pre match script that we read along with visualization and breathing work and an hour before the match we warm- up.” Jones said.
The team will return on Wednesday Oct. 4 in L.A. playing against West L.A. at 6:00 p.m.
