The Bakersfield College men’s soccer team played a thrilling game against Fresno that ended in a 2-2 draw on a hot, dry afternoon on September 20.
The game started and for almost half an hour we didn’t have the chance to see either team score a goal.
In the 36th minute, Roberto Marquez (17) arrived and scored the first goal of the match, also the first goal in favor of the visitors.
In the first half there were attacks but only Fresno was able to score a goal.
BC ended the first half with a score of 1-0, with the Fresno College team winning.
The second half was more exciting than the first half of the game as there were many great attacks and exciting strategies by players from both teams.
It was not until the 88th minute that Christopher Gandara (10) arrived and scored a goal in favor of Bakersfield College with beautiful assistance from Jordi Magana, putting the score at 1-1.
A few seconds later, Joshua Bryant (11) would score another goal in favor of Bakersfield at minute 89, thus leaving the score at 2-1 in favor of Bakersfield.
Fresno did not give up. In the last minute, Fresno’s Isaiah Villalobos (32) arrived and scored to make the 2-2.
This game was very exciting, the last minutes of the game were very exciting, especially the last three since we would have a goal every minute.
Both teams scored one point. The Renegades’ overall record moves to 3-3-1. The team will play on the road on Tuesday and then return home on Friday, September 27 to face LA Harbor at 4:00 p.m.
