Bakersfield College President Greg Chamberlain recently announced that he will not be renewing his contract as president after Jun. 30. Chamberlain stated in an email that he was returning to a teaching position, something he’s been hoping to do before he retires.

The school board has accepted his resignation and he has begun working with chancellor Sandra Serrano to ensure an easy transition to a new president with minimal operational disruption.

Chamberlain expressed how proud he is of his accomplishments as president and hopes he can carry on his service to BC students in the future through teaching.
