- Author Patricia McCormick will be visiting Bakersfield College on Oct. 15.
Students can stop by to meet the author at 10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. in the Fireside Room.
Her books, “Sold” and “Never Fall Down,” will be available for sale during her visit in the Fireside Room.
- Students are invited to attend a poetry reading by award-winning poet, novelist, and painter Clarence Major.
The poetry reading will be Oct. 3 at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the Norman Levan Center for Humanities on the BC campus.
Clarence Major has won many awards including a Western States Book Award for Fiction, two Pushcart Prizes, and a National Council on the Arts Fellowship.
- Roughneck Review, an online journal featuring student works, is encouraging students to submit their work for a chance to be published online.
The submission deadline will be Oct. 1.
Roughneck Review publishes papers, artwork, musical files, dramatic readings, and many others.
