The Halloween costume contest was back again this year, and was located in front of Student Life at the Renegade Crossroads on Main campus on Oct.31 12:30 – 1:30p.m. The event featured prizes for students, faculty and staff in categories that included best individual, best group, and most creative.
Lily Vinnars said, “The purpose of the contest is to basically inspire students to come out and celebrate Halloween, also acknowledge people’s costumes.” She even mentioned that Halloween is her favorite holiday.
Winners included Dungeon and Dragons costumes. Second place for individual went to the person dressed Michael Myers. First place was Annabelle Most Creative Social Butterfly
Winners of the Staff/Faculty portion went to She Hulk for best individual. Best group went to Barbie and Ken and most creative was awarded to an astronaut.
Leo said, “Have fun. Dress up just to show the Halloween spirit. They always have an odd number of judges, so that if there is stiff competition, there’s an odd number of votes, but as far as influencing their decision, it’s really about who committed to the role just being in character…”
