The Bakersfield College Athletics Department is excited to announce that they will be adding a new sport this Fall 2025.

The creation of a women’s water polo team at Bakersfield College is due to the increase in the number of Bakersfield high school athletes participating in the sport.

 The college has been closely monitoring the Kern High School District and recognizes the demand for opportunities at the collegiate level.

The addition of this team will allow these athletes to compete in the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA). Bakersfield College recognizes the long-standing popularity of water polo at other California institutions and is pleased to offer this option for women aspiring to advance their athletic careers in the sport.
